Have come here for years and have never been disappointed. Their smokehouse is the best cheese steak around IMHO, and a side of jumbo fried shrimp is icing on the cake. Although we do miss the previous owner, there was no quality change when ownership changed a few years ago.
There have been several South of Philly restaurants around Baton Rouge over the years. Glad this one is carrying on the tradition. Service is excellent as is the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich. I love their onion rings and they have alot of other sides

This place has one of my favorite sandwiches. I like coming here because the food is great and you get a ton of fries. The lady working the counter is really nice. She's the kind of person that always remembers your order.
One of the best cheesesteaks I’ve had outside of Philadelphia. Super! I got a double provy mushroom steak wit ... in regular language that’s a mushroom cheesesteak, with onions, and double provolone cheese.
South of Philly... one of Prairieville’s best kept secrets. GREAT prices on burgers, fries and onion rings that are always hot and delicious... staff is super friendly and they remember your face and your order... which is always special. We continue to eat here to-go because it’s always ready fast and packed very well.
I prefer going here for lunch. The people that run it then seem to have better people skills. My father and I went there around 630pm no one was in line at all. We sat at the counter for about 10 minutes before someone called in an order and then someone walked in after the phone call for a to go order. After she helped him and took the phone order she decided to take our order. The people at lunch focus on the customers at the register and in the dining room first in a first come first serve kind of thing. Either way the food was pretty good. French fries and onion rings were to die for, especially with malt vinegar on the fries! I got the 12 inch pepper steak with no green peppers (just jalapenos) with pepper jack cheese. Brought home half the sandwich and half the small order of fries. The sweet tea was awesome! Highly recommend this place! Maybe the people running it tonight weren't feeling to good, at least the cook was on point. Go here it is incredible!
